Die RAV Vast Drum hat eine große Zunge in der Mitte sowie 8-9 (je nach Modell) weitere, kreisförmig angeordnete Zungen. Die mittlere Zunge hat bis zu sieben gestimmte Töne, die Zungen im Kreis jeweils vier bis fünf.
RAV Vast Drums haben eine große Bandbreite der Möglichkeiten und einen sehr harmonischen Klang.
Die Instrumente sind sehr leicht anzuspielen und die Töne einer Stimmung sind so gewählt, dass es unmöglich ist, einen "Fehler" zu machen.
